Não me recordo muito bem como cheguei a estas tias, não sei se foi pela Helena; foi em 2005 qdo tava fora. O que esta banda faz é algo muito interessante. Acho que de todas as coisas não categorizáveis que ja postei aqui, esta é a mais delas. E como eu to com preguiça de escrever, vai aí um pequeno excerpt da Rolling Stone:
What would it sound like if Funky Four Plus One had made Brian Eno’s Here Come the Warm Jets? It would sound like the Go! Team’s “Huddle Formation,” a playground romp driven by double-Dutch chanting alongside guitar-keyboard drones. These U.K. popsters combine the indie style of Belle and Sebastian with the kiddie vibe of Sesame Street, mixing piano, horns, harmonica, countless Seventies soul samples and the femme rapping of MC Ninja. At first it seems like expertly crafted nostalgia, but the more you listen, the more emotional resonance you hear in grooves like “Ladyflash” and the poignant sign-off instrumental, “Everyone’s a VIP to Someone.”
Então meus caros, acho que é um disquinho essencial na biblioteca dos que querem enxergar o quão longe a coisa pode ir com a musica nos dias de hoje quando, com uma mala cheia de referencias de decadas passadas, vem umas babes e fazem uma parada completamente autentica. Fico vendo ai galera falando de fusion pra lá, fusion pra cá, penso, é que hoje em dia, fundir coisas faz parte do processo em si, enfim, voltemos ao tema mais logo no Via Cristina vendo o Galo destruir o timásso do Uberaba: OUVIR E PENSAR.
