Spiritualized – Songs in A&E (torrent)
Sipiritualized official website
soul on fire
“Soul On Fire” resgata o velho estilo de canções como “Come Together” e “Electricity”.
+ Kid Vinil

This well-constructed compilation, is significant not only for opening up these sounds to a larger audience but also for putting a definite perspective on a music scene that was all too short.
It is the late Seventies in Europe. The political tensions of the Sixties are now manifest in the extremes of hedonism and direct action. Youth feels alienated once again, this time its worse with constant violence on the television and industrial upheavals at home.
Urban decimation and Postmodernism at its height, further isolating people from their surroundings. European identity has been eradicated in shame and frustration. But something is happening. Punk Rock in the United Kingdom has shown kids all over the world that its easy for them to release music on independent labels. Current technological trends make access to new electronic instruments (ARP and MS10 among others) easy. In France a new youth culture is born. So Young But So Cold illustrates that trend brilliantly.
It begins with the most poppy tunes and gradually goes back in time, as more instruments are added to each song and the experts (mostly influenced by and creating progressive rock) take over. The first half of the disc the instrumentation is sparse, consisting of drum machine or keyboard and vocals primarily. By the end of the disc the tracks get more (analog) synthesizer oriented and denser in construction.

The (Hypothetical) Prophets were an ephemeral French coldwave band consisting of duo Bernard Szajner and Karel Beer. The band formed in 1980 and released a series of 12” singles and one full length record before their quick demise.
Despite a short discography, the band’s craft was unique. Singing in both their native tongue as well as English and alternating between male and female vocals, the the dozen or so songs recorded under this name are haunting minimal wave at its finest, a mixture of harsh electronic experimentation and catchy pulses of synth. more: Systems of Romance.blogspot

Rock Bitch – Motor Driven Bimbo June 25, 2008

várias trepando no palco…
Digamos q eu seja a sacerdotiza do ritual…
Ou seja, I’m fucking with the planet…
Babe, Guitarrista da banda
err…han… err… han?
Rock Bitch – Motor Driven Bimbo

Não me venha falar
Na malícia de toda mulher
Cada um sabe a dor
E a delícia
De ser o que é…Não me olhe
Como se a polícia
Andasse atrás de mim
Cale a bôca
E não cale na bôca
Notícia ruim…Você sabe explicar
Você sabe
Entender tudo bem
Você está
Você é
Você faz
Você quer
Você tem…Você diz a verdade
A verdade é o seu dom
De iludir
Como pode querer
Que a mulher
Vá viver sem mentir…

Dead Kennedys – Fresh Fruits for Rotten Vegetables (zshare)
DEAD KENNEDYS were one of the most popular and important American hardcore punk bands of the late ’70s/early ’80s. They formed in San Francisco in 1978 when EAST BAY RAY placed an ad in a music paper that vocalist JELLO BIAFRA responded to. They were soon joined by bassist KLAUS FLOURIDE, drummer TED and a second guitarist known to posterity simply as 6025. The latter departed in March 1979, while Ted was replaced at the very end of 1980 by D.H. PELIGRO.
After a brief rehearsal period, Dead Kennedys played their first gig at Mabuhay Gardens in July 1978. The “Fab Mab” was a Filipino restaurant in San Francisco’s North Beach section that served as a home to punk bands for nearly ten years. It wasn’t too long before the band gained a considerable following around San Francisco. Live, DKs were a combination of chaos and theatrics. Their sound could be described as a cross between the Sex Pistols and the Ventures.
…
Dead Kennedys played their last show in February of 1986 in the San
Francisco Bay Area, where they began. GIVE ME CONVENIENCE OR GIVE ME DEATH, a fantastic collection of their classic early singles and B sides, rare tracks and compilation tracks, was released in 1987.Adapted from THE ROUGH GUIDE TO ROCK biography by Andy Lewis. Official website

“Strange days have found us
Strange days have tracked us down
Theyre going to destroy
Our casual joys
We shall go on playing
Or find a new town
Yeah!
Strange eyes fill strange rooms
Voices will signal their tired end
The hostess is grinning
Her guests sleep from sinning
Hear me talk of sin
And you know this is it
Yeah!
Strange days have found us
And through their strange hours
We linger alone
Bodies confused
Memories misused
As we run from the day
To a strange night of stone”
