Tosca Strings – Yankees tocando tango argentino.

enjoy: Saecvla Saecvlorum – Saecvla Saecvlorum (1976)

NATAL DO NOSSO MUNDO
Praça da Estação, Centro. Quinta-feira, às 20h40. Com Marcus Viana e Transfônica Orkestra. Entrada franca.

O link pro CD do Geyboy Allstars ainda ta ativo aqui no blog.

Miho Hatori – Ecdysis (rapishare)
Miho Hatori – Ecdysis (torrent)
Miho Hatori was born near Tokyo in the 1970s. She absorbed the sounds of Japonese pop culture, from anime soundtracks of Starblazer and Ultra-Man to the Hayao Miyazaki film Nausicca, the Valley of Wind, which she says gave her “emotional earthquakes”. As a teenager in bubble era Japan, Miho began exploring all kinds of music, equally moved by Osaka underground noise music like the Boredom’s and Brazilian music.
It was during her stint as vocalist for Laito Lychee that she met Yuka Honda, with whom eventually formed the critically-lauded and trailblazing band Cibo Matto, so named for their concept of food as universal metaphor. more!

Oscar Peterson & Fred Astaire – Complete Norman Granz Sessions
Perhaps more organically grounded than his earlier Hollywood recordings, Fred Astaire’s December 1952 collaborations with pianist Oscar Peterson have an intimate honesty about them that some might find comforting. Of course, most of this material, written by Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Arthur Schwartz, Jerome Kern, Vincent Youmans, Johnny Mercer, and the Gershwin brothers, is tied directly to Astaire’s motion-picture career. Included are two ad-lib tap dance inventions and three original compositions devised especially for this project by Peterson. Producer Norman Granz fortified the sessions with the Jazz at the Philharmonic All-Stars, placing trumpeter Charlie Shavers and tenor saxophonist Flip Phillips in front and surrounding the pianist with guitarist Barney Kessel, bassist Ray Brown, and drummer Alvin Stoller. You can’t beat 40 tracks featuring Fred and Oscar together. All Music Guide

Aquarelle – Sous Un Arbre (1978) December 13, 2008

This jazz-rock band made two albums in their relatively short career, the first coinciding with a jazz-rock boom in Quebec. Their energetic fusion-type music was well received at home, but they gained sufficient recognition to be invited to the International Festival of Montreux in Switzerland (not to be confused with Montreal, their home base, which has also an equally important jazz festival nowadays). Their first self-tiled album, also known as Sous Un Arbre, was released in 78, and they managed a second release by recording their set in the famous festival that was made up of almost all-new tracks. They unfortunately broke–up after this release, but leader keyboardist Pierre Lescaut went on with a solo career in new age music. from progarchives

Kamchatka are a Swedish power trio highly influenced by late 1960s and early 1970s blues-rock bands. Their sound combines elements of blues-rock, stoner rock and psychedelic rock.
Kamchatka took their name from the volcanically active Russian Kamchatka Peninsula that divides the Okhotsk and the Bering Sea.
In 2005 Kamchatka released their self titled debut Kamchatka, a 14 track album containing 3 covers: “I Love Everybody” originally written by blues-rocker Johnny Winter. The 2 other songs, “Auto Mowdown” and “Spacegirl Blues” were written by Gerald V. Casale of New Wave band Devo (from compilation Hardcore Devo: Volume One). The album was recorded at Shrimpmonkey studios by Nicolas Elgstrand.
In 2007, Before Kamchatka’s second album Volume II was released, guitarist Thomas Andersson collaborated on a project with Opeth keyboardist Per Wiberg and Clutch drummer Jean-Paul Gaster, amongst others.
Kamchatka have been influenced by several genres including blues, progressive rock, stoner rock and jazz and by artists such as Devo, Ali Farka Touré, Cactus, King Crimson, Kyuss, Sarah Vaughan and Chet Baker.
Thomas Andersson’s guitar playing is mainly riff based and is considered highly inspired by Jimi Hendrix and Robin Trower, therefore Kamchatka are often compared to heavy blues-rock bands active in the late 1960s and early 1970s like The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Led Zeppelin and Cream. The band has been labeled hard rock,[6] stoner rock, jam band, power trio and blues-rock.
